Safety Precautions you must know before using a Fire Extinguishers
- When you see fire or smoke ALWAYS pull the building fire alarm first to ensure Get everybody out first,
- Grab the nearest fire extinguisher,
- Inspect the extinguisher and read the instructions before using it and Make sure that it’s the correct type and class to extinguish the fire,
- The pressure gauge on top should be in the green area. If it’s red, the extinguisher has expired,
- Check the nozzle clogged or damaged,
- Make sure that your escape route is clear and not obstructed,
- Use a fire extinguisher for small, contained fires only,
- Stand at safe distance away from the fire,
- Always use the extinguishers at the base of the fire,
- Be careful from smoke generating from the fire it can be harmful,
- If you are using a cartridge type extinguisher, before striking on plunger make sure that your head is not upon the extinguisher cap (If extinguisher is not properly maintained it may leads to injury or fatal),
- Leave immediately if you’re unable to extinguish the fire,
- Replace or Recharge your fire extinguisher as soon as possible.

S : Squeeze the lever
To release the extinguishing agent, squeeze the lever.

S : Sweep from side to side.
